PC vendors have started bringing Intel’s 4th generation Haswell powered devices to the market. Fujitusi has announced LIFEBOOK UH90/L, which it calls the world’s thinnest Ultrabook. This Ultrabook has quite a lot to talk about. UH90 is powered by energy efficient 1.6GHz Haswell Core i5–4200U processor.
The ultrabooks comes equipped with Sharp’s touchscreen wide-format IGZO 14-inch liquid crystal display. This 3200 x 1800 pixel, 262 ppi display is definitely sharp. Both Haswell and IGZO display also contribute to bringing down the power consumption. Fujitsu is promising around 11 hours on 45Wh battery.
The Ultrabooks comes with integrated HD Graphics 4400 GPU, thus no discrete GPU for gaming. Fujistu also compromised on RAM and packs only 4GB of RAM which may or may not be enough depending on your needs.
The Ultrabook does look aesthetically beautiful without compromising on ruggedness. Company says, “The use of omnidirectional design, or “Omnidesign,” makes the LIFEBOOK UH90/L aesthetically beautiful when examined at any angle, even from the bottom or from the back.”
Fujitsu has made the ultrabook is extra tough to withstand weight of around 200 kgf, complementing the “ultra-compressed, solid core” design.
The device will be made available in Japan on June 28. It’s uncertain when (and whether) the device will come to the US or Europe.
