Samsung has officially confirmed the Galaxy S4 mini, a smaller version of the flagship smartphone Galaxy S4. The android phone manufacturer will target the mid range market with this moderate version of its flagship phone.
Samsung does not want lose out on customers who like the flashy flagship device but do not prefer large screen phones. The Samsung Galaxy S4 mini looks very similar to the flagship device but with reduction in its size. The mini features a 4.3 inch Super AMOLED display which is significantly smaller when compared to Galaxy S4’s 5inch phablet form factor. The S4 mini is powered by a 1.7 GHz dual core processor instead of heavy duty quad/octa core of its elder sibling. It comes with 1.5GB of RAM and 8GB of inbuilt memory. It has 8 megapixel shooter at the back and 1.9MP front facing camera. Samsung will offer the device in 4G version as well as 3G and with dual SIM variants.
The S4 Mini is running latest Android 4.2.2. Most software features on S4 is available on the Mini, such as Sound&Shot, Panorama Shot, Story Album, Group Play, ChatON, S Translator and WatchON. We have no official word on launch dates and pricing.
