With Google I/O just around the corner lot of tech enthusiasts are all ready with a list of stuff that they are expecting from the event. There was news floating on the web that there was something new happening with the Google Wallet payment platform which will be revealed at the Google I/O.
Google was apparently planning to update Google Wallet, with a physical credit card. However even though Google Wallet will receive a boost with other new features, there is no physical credit card facility coming. All Things D is reporting that after not being satisfied with the demo of the Google Wallet credit card, Google’s CEO Larry Page decided to scrap the project. He cited the reason that the card was similar to usual credit card and didn’t offer any innovative features.

The card was an attempt by Google to gain information about offline spending by the users, which would have allowed better ad delivery to their customers. Sources describe that the physical card was similar to usual credit card having a black background with Google Wallet “W” in rainbow colours on top of it.
