Google has announced the release of Android 4.2.2 Android Open Source Project (AOSP) binaries. These are intended for use with any Nexus AOSP-enabled device including Nexus 4, Nexus 7, Nexus 10 and the previous generation Galaxy Nexus.
The search giant, however, did not release Android 4.2.2 AOSP for the Nexus S, as it is still stuck on Android 4.1.2.
The Inquirer said in a report:
Google had started releasing Android 4.2.2 AOSP but now it seems to have finished rolling it out to the stable of present Nexus devices and the previous generation Galaxy Nexus. The firm’s latest release includes 3G versions of the Nexus 7 and Nexus 10 tablets, which previously were omitted.
The release is aimed at helping third-party Android ROM developers to bring their distributions up to Android 4.2.2.
