With Ubuntu 12.10, we saw it making software and music results available right in the Dash. With Ubuntu 13.04 Canonical is going one step forward, and soon you will be able to purchase software and music right from the Dash without opening the software center or web browser. This is intended to make the whole experience even more interactive and useful for the end user.
The Ubuntu 12.10 release saw the Dash take another important step towards fulfilling its intended purpose of being an online, global search tool that helps users find anything, instantly, right from their home environment. There are a number of exciting improvements planned for 13.04 that will make the Dash more comprehensive, more online and as a result – slicker and even more useful.

There are some other improvements that have been planned too, like smarter scopes. Now when you search for “The Beatles”, music and video results will be displayed before, and other results after it. You will also be able to search a number of online sites right from Ubuntu Dash and get what you want on your fingertips.
