According to a survey done by TechBargains, a deal aggregation website that combines intelligent curation with real-time price-value discovery algorithms, Nexus 7 is on top of the shoppers wish-list this holiday season. The survey was conducted on TechBargains among 1255 respondents in October 2012.
According to the survey 53% of the people want to buy a tablet this Christmas. Among those 53%, one out of three want a Asus Nexus 7. This edges out the 30% for ipad, 24% for ipad mini and 24% for Kindle Fire HD. “With more tablets on the market to fit every size budget, our survey reveals consumers are even more interested this year versus last year in giving and receiving a tablet – the must have tech gadget this holiday season,” said Yung Trang, president and editor-in-chief of TechBargains.com.
Apple is still most popular among users. iPad and iPad mini when combined totals to 54% which means approximately 1 out of every 2 people planing to buy a tablet wants an Apple tablet.
This survey shows not only the increasing popularity of tablet among users but also that fact that Android tablets are now gaining significant market shares. Despite being a major player in the smartphone OS, Android have not been able to enjoy such success in the tablet market. This increasing popularity of Nexus 7 seems to be changing that.
The Microsoft Surface tablet featuring Windows 8 RT was expected to hamper the market shares of the Nexus 7 however the survey shows that Microsoft Surface tablet, Kindle Fire and Nook Tablet were least desired. The survey showed that number of people wanting a Surface to be very less.
