Linus Torvalds Asks Google To Stop Google+ Event Spam
If you are a Google plus use, there are two things you would be most annoyed about. One is there is no way to see the private messages sent to you if you plan to respond to them two days later. Second is the new Google+ Event. I was bombarded by the event invite the moment it was announced.

Earlier there was no way to decline an event, so when I was invited to Ubuntu 12.10 event I could not decline it and now it is showing up in my calender. So every time you are invited to an event it will be showing up in your calender. That’s fine but only those events must show in my calender which I have ‘accepted’. I must not see the undecided or rejected events.
I am not the single one, Linus Torvalds, the father of Linux, also feels the same and considers this a spam. He posted on his Google+ page:
Is anybody else finding that now those stupid (G+?) events that you auto-declined show up in your google calendar too? It started happening for me today.
So I can go into my calendar (for each device, it seems) and say “don’t show declined events” and they disappear. Fine. Except they should damn well not have appeared in the first place without asking me.
But my wife is set to see my calendar read-only. So now she has to do it too – for each device she has. And our family calendar in the kitchen? Same thing. Except some calendar apps don’t even seem to have that setting.
Guys, what the f*ck is wrong with you? How can anybody think that this event spam is a good idea? And who was the moron who again decided to enable a new feature without asking the user for permission.
Google: get your shit together, and stop the event spam. Really.
Google does need to fix this bug, it’s annoying for those who are heavy calender users and have a lot of people in their circle.
